Friends of Yellow Dog About Collars for a CureT
For the first time, the Yellow Dog logo donned a pink collar for the philanthropic cause. Contributions generated by the sale of this special Yellow Dog T-shirt go to programs dedicated to reducing the risks of breast and other forms of cancer and increasing access to quality care and treatment on Nantucket Island. Specifically, these contributions go directly to Nantucket Cottage Hospital. Colllars For A CureT Dog Collars, shorts, pants and other apparel are available in the Yellow DogT store. (www.collarsforacure.org) Nantucket Cottage Hospital (www.nantuckethospital.org) is a not-for-profit community hospital dedicated to providing quality health services to the community regardless of one's ability to pay. The hospital is the point of access to the Nantucket community for wellness and prevention, emergency, primary, home, and continuous care. Yellow Dog A.C.K.T June 2004, Yellow Dog launched the A.C.K. campaign, an initiative to increase volunteerism on the island of Nanucket. 100% of profits of each Yellow Dog A.C.K. t-shirt benefits the efforts of dedicated volunteers and their causes on Nantucket. We wear what we make, and we donate our profits to the Boys and Girls Club of Nantucket. Buy a t-shirt and support the Boys and Girls Club of Nantucket or let us know who you support and we will donate to your non-profit! Remember: Achieving through Care & Kindness.About Yellow Dog on Broadway In July 2001, Yellow Dog began barking on Broadway. It was that summer that we first participated in Broadway Barks which draws on the considerable resources and generosity of the entire Broadway community. The events objective is to find loving homes for each of the dogs that attend this event. The day also raises awareness for animal adoption. Ultimately, our contribution of Yellow Dog Wear is auctioned during Broadway Barks, which is produced with the support of Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA). Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS (BC/EFA) is the nation's leading industry-based, not-for-profit AIDS fundraising and grant making organization. BC/EFA is the on-going, committed response from the American Theatre community to an urgent worldwide health crisis. By drawing upon the talents, resources, and generosity of this community, BC/EFA raises funds for AIDS-related causes across the United States. Since its founding in 1988, BC/EFA has raised over $50 million for critically needed services for people with AIDS, HIV or HIV-related illnesses. www.officialbroadwaybarks.org Yellow Dog & Puppy Love In November 2003, Yellow Dog found Puppy Love. It was that Autumn that we first began a friendship with Puppies Behind Bars. Puppies Behind Bars trains inmates to raise puppies to be guide dogs for the blind and explosive detection dogs for law enforcement. The puppies live in prison with their "puppy raisers" from the age of eight weeks to eighteen months. As the puppies mature into well-loved, well-behaved dogs, their raisers learn what it means to contribute to society rather than take from it. Yellow Dog has created a special edition Puppies Behind Bars cap. Each time a special cap is purchased a donation of $10.00 will be made to Puppies Behind Bars. |
